  • call out (utter loudly)
  • call on 1 (ask to recite in class)
  • call on 2 (visit)
  • carry on (continue to do something or make something continue; take part in)
  • come off (become detached from a larger whole; complete something, be finished with something; appear or seem to be in a certain way)
  • keep on (continue doing something with no interruption)
  • get off (go away from, leave)
  • get on 1 (with) (continue doing something after an interruption)
  • get on 2 (get on board some form of public transportation)
  • get over (recover)
  • get through (overcome something difficult or unpleasant)
  • go over (go over (discuss or examine each part of something in detail, review)
  • go through (experience something difficult or unpleasant; use up, consume)
  • look after (attend, take care of)
  • look into (investigate)
  • open up (make something become available or possible, for instance opportunities)
  • run across (find by chance)
  • run into (meet)
  • take after (resemble)
  • take up (use a certain amount of space, effort, time; deal with or discuss, for instance an issue; start doing a certain activity, especially for pleasure)
  • wait on (serve)
